MiPACS™ Digitizer Convert an Analog non-DICOM Modality to DICOM

MiPACS Digitizer is an extension to MiPACS View, converting its role into an acquisition station. It adds the ability to capture images from non-DICOM equipment (old or new) and convert them to DICOM. One can directly capture and store images from any legacy analog equipment by using a capture card. The Digitizer will then convert the captured data into proper DICOM by associating it with the appropriate patient, study and anatomic information.

MiPACS Digitizer supports capturing through any TWAIN interface or file import. The user can also import legacy images into the PACS system in two different ways. First, new DICOM studies can be created from typical or extended (lossy or lossless 10-16 bit grayscale) image files, such as TIFF, JPEG or JPEG2000. Second, old films can be scanned in and quickly cropped using the advanced “Scan & Chop” filter to create individual DICOM images.

The application also allows the user to store the newly created DICOM images to one of more DICOM Archive Server(s).
