Four clinics at Lackland Air Force base have installed MiPACS Dental Enteprise Solution to give them ultimate flexibility when choosing imaging hardware. Currently, Planmeca and Air Techniques devices are installed, but Lackland has the option to purchase devices many other vendors as well, without having to purchase new imaging software.
Medicor Imaging worked with Lackland Air Force Base to ensure that MiPACS was fully compliant with the strict security guidelines required for the operation of software on base. Medicor also worked closely with the dental staff on base to simplify their own daily workflow by the development of custom applications.

UTHSCSA's Dental School implemented MiPACS Dental Enterprise Solution as an answer to the school's limited digital imaging capabilities. They moved from a system compromised of several proprietary imaging programs to MiPACS -- a single, comprehensive application that integrates with nearly all capture devices, which in turn minimizes the need for training.
The school's collaboration with Medicor has made MiPACS a better product through feedback and constructive criticism.
For UTHSCSA, MiPACS Dental Enterprise Solution has cut costs,standardized procedures, integrated seamlessly with their patient management software and made the Dental School DICOM compliant. With the implementation of MiPACS Storage Server, MiPACS Dental Enterprise Viewer, and Medicor Imaging PMR, the Dental School has made a great leap in technology.

University of Nevada Las Vegas

The School of Dental Medicine at UNLV has become the first paperless and digital dental school in the US. In June 2004, they implemented MiPACS Dental Enterprise as their solution for digital radiography. Medicor provided UNLV with a comprehensive digital imaging package that integrates with their Citrix-based patient management software, Salud EDR. At the Dental School's multiple clinic locations, over 150 Citrix clients and nearly 20 thick-client capture stations connect to redundant network load balanced MiPACS Storage Servers. During the first month after taking MiPACS and Salud live, the School of Dental Medicine processed approximately 800 patients.

Affiliated with Harvard Medical School
The Joslin Diabetes Center is the world leader in diabetes treatment, education, and research. Located in Boston, the center is affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Prior to Joslin's involvment with Medicor, they were using a leading healthcare company's PACS system.
In Joslin’s continuing efforts to improve treatment of diabetic eye diseases, a consulting firm was employed to develop a PACS component for ophthalmology using LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging Suite toolkit. This brought about the need for a PACS storage server that could handle compression and newer SOP classes used for ophthalmology such as Visible Light objects.
A long-time LEAD Technologies customer, Joslin Diabetes Center evaluated Medicor Imaging’s (the medical division of LEAD Technologies) MiPACS Storage Server in November of 2003. The overall results of the evaluation were equivalent or better than their existing PACS server.
MiPACS Storage Server met all of Joslin’s need in a PACS server – little maintenance, simple installation and configuration, fast, reliable, scalable, and stable. In addition, MiPACS is a more affordable solution than similar DICOM servers. Joslin Diabetes has now implemented two MiPACS Storage Servers and they plan to implement seven more in the future.
Department of Veteran's Affairs
Fayetteville VA Medical Center
Prior to MiPACS, the dental clinic at Fayetteville's VA Medical center was faced with using software from multiple vendors for image capture in a non-DICOM format that wouldn't interact with their hospital-wide VistA Imaging system. With MiPACS now in place, the staff at the clinic can use one application to capture images from any device. Images are now stored in the standard DICOM format, making them compatible with nearly any other system.
The Department of Veteran's Affairs needed a solution that was compatible with the VA's current imaging system, VistA. A MiPACS Storage Server resides at the clinic and automatically communicates with the hospital's VistA Imaging system to store images files for archiving. In addition, MiPACS Dental Enterprise Viewer query's VistA's modality worklist server.
School of Dental and Oral Surgery

The School of Dental and Oral Surgery at Columbia University is known as a leader in research and dental education ever since it was founded in 1852.
When they decided to move to digital imaging, MiPACS Dental Enterprise Solution was implemented to take care of all of their digital imaging needs.
Currently, the school is using MiPACS Dental Enterprise Viewer on over 30 workstations to capture, view, and edit images from many digital capture devices like Schick CDRPAN, AirTechniques Scan-X, Soredex Digora, and Gendex DenOptix. The school is using MiPACS Storage Server as the image repository, which provides them with a DICOM compliant solution.
University of London
Royal Veterinary College
The Royal Veterinary College is the UK's first and largest veterinary school and a constituent College of the University of London. The College is one of the leading veterinary research centers in Europe and provides support for the veterinary profession through its three referral hospitals, diagnostic services and continuing professional development courses. The RVC is using the Server to store images from its Agfa CR and Siemens Iconos instruments in the small animal and equine hospitals.
Patrick Fischer, Applications Team Manager at the RVC explains, “The Royal Veterinary College, London, U.K. selected Medicor's MiPACS DICOM Image Server after an extensive review of solutions on the market. We found it competitively priced, based on rock solid SQL server technology, scalable and easy to deploy and configure. The College is now using MiPACS for storage of images from two instruments and is planning to extend this to a wide variety of modalities used on site including MRI, CT and NM and US. We have over 40GB of image data stored to date.” “The MiPACS DICOM Server has been operational for approximately one year and has delivered 100% up time.
